Image Selection Guides

This guide will help you understand which types of images are ideal for your project and which ones to avoid, ensuring that your final piece is both beautiful and true to your original vision. Happy tufting!

Good for Tufting

  • Simple Colors: Limited color palettes with clear distinction between each color.

  • Clearly Defined Lines: Bold, well-defined outlines that keep the design crisp.

  • Simple Shapes: Basic shapes like circles, hearts, or simple geometric patterns.

  • Flat Cartoon Style: Flat, 2D-style designs with no shading or depth.

Not Easy for Tufting

  • Shadows and Gradients: Difficult to recreate in yarn and lead to unclear designs.

  • Words or Small Lines: Text and thin lines lose definition and clarity when tufted.

  • Angles and Complex Details: Detailed designs and sharp angles can be hard to achieve cleanly.

  • Photorealism: Realistic images, including faces and objects with complex shading, don't translate well.
